Wondershare DVD to Zune Ripper Tutorial

The main control panel looks like this

OK, here we go, step by step to get your DVD converted and onto your Zune.
  1. Open Wondershare DVD to Zune Ripper
  2. Put your DVD in your DVD drive
  3. Click “Load DVD files” button, click on your DVD drive, and click OK
After the DVD file have been loaded, you should see something like this

  4. Click the “Uncheck All” button
  5. In the Wondershare information panel there may be a number of entries starting with “Title_”.
Find the one with a duration that matches the Run Time of your feature, or look for the longest duration. Check the box beside it.
If you happen to click the “+” then Do Not check all the chapters.
  6. Click the “Output Settings” button. You should see this window pop-up
  7. Make sure the “Out Format” is WMV
  8. The optimum Video “Bitrate” to balance quality and battery life is 500, so for your first conversion, set the Bitrate to 512. If you decide you want better quality output on your Zune or you are going to connect to a TV, then set this higher – perhaps 900 or 1500. It’s trial and error until you find a value you are personally happy with. Higher Bitrates = larger files.
  9. Set the Audio “Sample Rate” to 44100Hz
  10. Set the Audio “Bitrate” to 128kbps. If you are going to play the soundtrack through a Hi-Fi system, then set this higher
  11. Click OK
  12. The “Effect Settings” button allows you to adjust
    • Brightness
    • Contrast
    • Saturation
    • Audio volume
You can leave these settings alone for your first conversion.

  13. Either enter the path to the your output Folder or click the folder button on the right to browse for your output folder.
HINT: if you chose your "My Videos" folder, the Zune software will automatically find the file and include it your Zune videos.
  14. Enter a filename for your output
  15. Select “< No Sub Title >” from the Subtitle options. They are too small to read on the Zune screen
  16. Optional: You can use the Preview Controls to see the feature you are going to convert
  17. Optional: The Crop Tool allows you to remove any black bands from above/below or either side of the main picture
  18. Optional: The Trim tool allows you to trim time off the beginning and/or end of the feature. The feature will be stretched to fit the Zune screen
  19. When all the setting are done, Click the Start button.
You’ll see the Preview and Progress window.
If you run your conversion overnight, you can check the "Shut down computer when conveersion completed"

That’s all there is to it!
